BILLINGS – A group of motorcycle riders that has been helping families with severely ill children since 1991 held their 28th annual Helping Hands Poker Run on Sunday.

The run raised money to help the family of a 10-year old with Down Syndrome, who needed some surgeries.

  • BILLINGS, MT (B-N.C) – The R.O.A.D. RC doing their best during last four years to ensure veterans eating healthy food. RC organized their fourth Veteran’s Poker Run which took place on Sunday, with registration at the 2ND Shift Bar in Billings, Montana.

Sometimes the family makes it for part of the ride, but this year’s family is at a hospital in Denver.

The fundraiser is made up of a hand of poker and a silent auction.

The poker run can be fun and rewarding for the riders.

“Great to see the turnout that we have where all these people that want to help for a great cause,” said Chris “Shady” Fowler, a Helping Hands board member. “Twenty-eight years we’ve been doing it and it’s great to see it grow. Billings has a tremendous riding community, how they ban together and come together just to help out people in need, it’s pretty tremendous.”

The poker run drew close to 200 riders.

This year, the journey made stops at Andy’s Bar in Billings, Four Aces Bar in Hardin, Junction City Saloon in Custer, Dark Horse in Worden, Blue Cat Bar & Grill in Huntley…and finished up at The Red Door in Billings.
